Backend Engineer (Node.js)
Engineering Remote (Worldwide) Contract
We are seeking a Backend Engineer specializing in Node.js to design and implement scalable API services, database transactions, and data processing workflows. You will optimize backend latency, design relational schemas, implement caching systems, and secure API gateways against external threats.
What you'll do
- Build secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs in Node.js using Express or NestJS.
- Optimize PostgreSQL queries, tables, and views to improve backend response times.
- Configure background workers, task queues (BullMQ/Redis), and cron routines.
- Implement security layers, JWT authentication, and RLS policy integrations.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years backend development experience in professional environments.
- Expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and relational database management (Postgres).
- Familiarity with Docker containers and serverless cloud architectures.
- Experience writing integration tests and API documentation.
